PANGDEMONIUM SEASON TICKET 2016

Pangdemonium’s 2019 Season: Present Tense/Future Perfect

Pangdemonium Season Ticket bundles three great performances into one convenient card. The intimacy of the theatre highlighted the cleverly designed set, deliberately painted in drab colours to lend to the bittersweet mood. In retrospect though, it prevented a lot more people ticet crying their eyes out. Rabbit Hole is a vignetted portrayal of one aspect of the human condition: Littered with sarcasm and cynicism only family can bear, the play attempts to balance humour with the heavy topic, which I felt got a little too jovial at times, pulling the audience out from a pot of simmering sorrow, then dipping their feet back in for a bit, as if in tease.

But, I also thought that Linden Furnell pleasantly surprised and made an impression on me even though his character had sporadic scenes.

Set against the deafening silence with one character expressing his guilt, one can feel the tightening squeeze in their chest as the other character lies on the bed of their deceased child, crying silently; it was tender and vulnerable moments like this in the play, that nearly brought me to tears, contrasted to the intense arguments filled with raised voices and gesticulations.
